Roy Norton was in the 29th division of the army infantry. As a machine gunner, he stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was injured and on July 13th, was sent to a hospital in England where he spent 9 months recuperating. When he was released from the hospital, he was sent home. The war in Europe was over.
